Codsall Dramatic Society is delighted to offer a comedy, Come Blow Your Horn by the incomparable Neil Simon, as part of the Golden Anniversary of Codsall Village Hall for its autumn production. It was written in 1961, but the production team has recklessly chosen to update it by three years to coincide with the 50th birthday.
Playboy Alan Baker combines his lifestyle with his employment in his father’s factory, entertaining a succession of lady friends in his smart bachelor apartment whilst largely dodging his father’s wrath. His complicated but successful strategies fall apart when Buddy, his younger brother, arrives having left home, also trying to throw off the shackles of the family firm. Their Jewish Mother & Father arrive to try and persuade them to return to the family, and one of Alan’s old flames returns with the promise of true love, while the boys sink deeper into deception and confusion.
Will Buddy escape his parents’ grasp? Can Alan ever find true happiness? Join Codsall Dramatic Society for this timeless coming-of-age story, as relevant today as ever.
